is an informal group who meet Sundays to drum together using our collection of African drums, congitas, bongos and anything else handy.
We welcome beginners and experts. The panjanDrum is run on the principle of consensus; there is no drum master, everyone has an important part to play, anyone can start a good rhythm.
We achieve this by: Relaxation: it's a jam, not a lesson. The goal is to enjoy playing together, not to be best, loudest or fastest. Listening: To drum together individuals must listen to the group. Inclusion: the panjandrum is for everyone with no restrictions because of skill, age, gender, language, culture, race, religion or background Sharing our space, our time and our skills Respect: the panjandrum is run by volunteers, we believe it's privilege to be a part of it.
We have a variety of drums to suit most sizes and types of people (but ask before you borrow one: not all the drums are ours). It's free. It's from 2:30 to 6:00pm every Sunday. |
