Just a quick reminder that our next Community Clean Up in The Hope Space in Finsbury Park will be this Saturday 2nd December. We will be litter picking and planting spring bulbs in the park from Haringey Council.
So far we have already made a start planting primroses in the Hope Space and been bulb planting in Stroud Green School School Nursery. We also plan to run planting sessions with Stroud Green School on 4, 5, 6th December and Louise will be planting in the grounds of St Aiden’s in the coming weeks too. In all we will have planted 2000+ bulbs.
Please come along if you can on Saturday from the earlier time of 10:00 am – 12.30.
The bulb order arrived later than planned so we have lots to do. Please bring forks, spades and metal trowels if you have them as the ground is very hard.
Refreshments provided. Cakes to share always welcome!
Plans going forward:
- Apply for a community small grant from Haringey for refreshments/crafts/tools (current funding has finished)
- Up until now the group has been very informal, made up of local park users and families from Stroud Green School keen to meet others and do our bit to improve the park whilst our children run around. We intend to keep it that way but would also welcome ideas as to if/how we should develop the group.
- If you would like to help us organise the sessions on a regular basis then please contact us. This will mean we can aim to run the group every month.
We look forward to seeing you. Best wishes,
Louise and Juliette
